Introduction

Red Cross Nordic United World College is located in Fjaler Kommune, in Western Norway, on the edge of Flekke Fjord that reaches out to the Atlantic Ocean.  It is some 10 kilometres from the municipal Centre of Dale i Sunnfjord in the county of Sogn og Fjordane.

Outer Sognefjord and Dalsfjord measures 2,700 sqkm, but have a population of only 16,000 -that is around 6 persons per sq km. London, by comparison, has more than 3,500 inhabitants per sq km!

The muncipalities of Solund, Gulen, Hyllestad and Høyanger lie at the mouth of the magnificent Sogne Fjord. Askvoll and Fjaler boast the south shore of Dals Fjord, by many thought to be Norways most beautiful.

The closest town to the College is Dale (population of 1200) with shops, library, bank, petrol station and other facilities.

Transportation to Dale is mostly provided by College, but you can also get there by bike or by hiking over the mountains (2 hours).
